My last photo tour for now…
I have decided to put photo tours on hold for now. It has been something like 13 years that we have run trips to China, Bhutan, India and, of course, Japan. Lots of wonderful guests, engagement with culture, magical images and great collaborations.
While I will still do some travel, it feels like the right time to wind back. I am looking forward to spending more time in my home studio working on new bodies of work as well as diving deeper into ceramics. I have returned to stoneware and porcelain after a break of 40 years! I am enjoying the way my photographic images can influence the forms and surfaces of my ceramic work. Expect exhibition and open studio news in future.
Namgay (in Bhutan) is a great tour organiser as well as photographer and I do recommend getting in touch with him if you are looking at travelling to that special country. www.illuminatingtoursbhutan.com
Dai Kondo has hundreds of locations recorded around Hokkaido and the rest of Japan. He is a skilled photographer and photoguide and will help you get the images you want. www.sparkphotography.jp/japan-photography-tours
Thanks to all my guests and I hope we will cross paths in the future.
